Ventriloquist Vikki Gasko is a perennial favorite among youth librarians and library audiences. Her shows feature funny interactions with adorable animal characters, exciting audience participation, and comedy.
Vikki's skills as a ventriloquist have won her international acclaim. Adults will be mesmerized by the fact that her lips don't even twitch. Kids will be captivated as a giant polar bear, beautiful macaw, and cute green dinosaur come to "life" before their eyes to tell stories and create playful mischief with the audience.
Vikki has been performing in libraries and schools for over 15 years. This experience is evident in the quality of her presentations and her ability to entertain all ages in the audience.
In addition to Vikki's popular family show, she also has several different programs that fit themes, including her new program "Dream Big - Read Big" for the 2012 Summer Reading Program. See the list below for descriptions of all her shows.
Vikki can perform her general family fun show, or one of her programs that have a educational message or a tie-in to the Summer Reading Program theme.
A show to go along with the 2012 Summer Reading Program theme of “Dream Big - Read”, this show is imaginative re-make of the classic story of Peter Pan, as the audience helps Hank the polar bear achieve his dream of becoming a pirate. A cast of funny characters, including “Stinker Bell” the skunk make this a memorable adventure.
Vikki’s animal friends take the audience on a journey to the seven continents to share exciting stories about the people and traditions of their native countries.
“Critterography” is Vikki’s show that weaves interesting lessons about the animal kingdom with the comedy and excitement of her trademark ventriloquism. Kids learn about plants and animals from deep in the Rainforest to the chill of Arctic. See a video preview of the "Critterography Show" on YouTube.
“Vikki’s performance was just full of WOW! The interactions between the characters and the audience were so much fun to watch.”Jenny C, Children’s Librarian, Wood Dale Library, Wood Dale, Illinois
“We had over 100 children at our event and they all loved the performance. Vikki provided a great combination of entertainment, audience participation, and interesting storytelling. All of her props were visually exciting and she kept the show going at a pace that kept the children engaged.”Linda T, Library Assistant, Delton District LIbrary, Delton, Michigan
