Halloween Party At Your Library
July 20, 2010 - Submitted by Brandy
Now is the time to start planning your Halloween events at your library, and Midwest Library Shows can help! We have several entertainers who offer "kid-friendly" Halloween programs that include a Halloween Magic Show, Halloween Music concert, and other Fall time celebrations.
Our entertainer's specialize in children's audiences, so you can be sure that they will set just the right silly Halloween mood at your library Halloween party, without being scary or inappropriate for your school age audience.
Halloween Party Planning Tip: Plan your library party for a date that is before October 23rd. There is less chance that you will have to compete with school parties and other Halloween events that usually take place the week of Halloween.

Welcome Performing Artist Management Clients
January 31, 2010 - Submitted by Brandy
After many years of business, Performing Artist Management in Troy, Michigan (formally www.performingartistmanagement.com) has closed their doors. Many of the entertainers who used to work with Performing Artist Management are now available from Midwest Library Shows.
If you have an outstanding contract with Performing Artist Management, the performers are honoring all signed agreements. Please contact the performer or call our office to confirm the dates.
If you are a previous client of Performing Artist Management, we look forward to the opportunity to work with you to help you provide quality entertainment for your library and community events. In most cases, our fees are significantly lower than those charged by Performing Artist Management, and we are sure you will like our professional, friendly service.

We are absolutely thrilled that we have been chosen to provide all of the children's entertainment for the PBS Kid's Area / US Park Kid's Tent at the 2009 Arts Beats and Eats Festival Of Hope in Pontiac, Michigan. Over Labor Day weekend, our magicians, musicians, and ventriloquists will present 60 shows (that is 30 HOURS of kid's entertainment). If you are at the festival, please stop by and say "hi".

Thank You To Our Librarian Friends
August 31, 2009 - Submitted by Brandy
2009 Summer Reading programs have officially wrapped up. Our entertainers finished their last summer program "wrap up" parties at libraries in Central Michigan and the suburbs of Chicago this week. It was a pleasure working with past clients and visiting new libraries. The attendance at all the programs was truly fantastic, and in many cases, capacity crowds, as parents took advantage of some free family fun close to home. Hopefully many of those families will continue to frequent the library throughout the year. Personally, I am already looking forward to planning summer 2010!

New Michigan Library Entertainers
August 31, 2009 - Submitted by Brandy
Midwest Library Shows provides entertainment for libraries all across Michigan. Our entertainers travel to Grand Rapids area Libraries, Lansing area Libraries, up to Alpena and Petoskey area Libraries...and some even make annual trips "over the bridge" to bring their shows to libraries in Michigan's upper peninsula. A majority of the library entertainers we represent are from Michigan, so we never add travel fees or lodging costs for a Michigan library that schedules a show.
We have several new shows for 2009-2010, including (finally!) a teen program that teens actually get excited about, and an incredible performance that is all about the oceans.

The programs offered include no bully assemblies, science programs, and assemblies for reading month, Halloween and more. Many of these educational assemblies can tie into events and programs at your library. Children's Entertainers For Ohio Libraries
June 29, 2009 - Submitted by Kate J.
Ohio youth services / childrens librarians can turn to us as a one-stop resource for planning summer reading program and family event activities at their Ohio library. Every children's entertainer offered on our youth and teen program pages is available to travel to Ohio. Libraries in Northeast, Southwest and Southern Ohio can benefit from reduced fees for their Ohio library entertainment by block booking performances with other libraries in their area. By coordinating with just 2 other Ohio libraries or branches in your district to host the same show over a 3 day period, each library can save up to $200 off the performance fee. As always, there is never a hotel or transportation charge for any of our library entertainers no matter where in Ohio they are traveling to.
