Building on a Dream has everything kids and teens love - cool inventions, gadgets, creating things, and laughter.

This 45 minute show features fun demonstrations of some truly awesome achievement in human dreaming, creativity and innovation. There is a 6 foot a wireless transmission of power with a Tesla coil, a solar power demonstration and even an awesome energy bike. Audience members even get a chance to race to build the tallest self-standing structure.

Each show has music, humor and audience participation, and be adapted for youth or teen audiences. The messages and demonstrations in the show are designed to spark imagination and inspire kids long after the show is over.

This summer reading program is specifically designed to go hand in hand with the theme of the 2012 summer reading theme. Dates are booking up quickly. This program travels to Illinois, Michigan, and Southern Wisconsin.

What You Should Know

• This program requires approximately 1 hour of set-up before the show. The cool gadgets and demonstrations require more space than an average library presentation, so a large meeting room or outdoor space works best.

• You can make this program more cost effective by teaming up with other libraries in your area to all book the program during the same day or back-to-back days.

• Building on a Dream is fun for elementary (youth library program) audiences, and also for tween / teen audiences (8-16).
