It can be hard to find programs and activities that will draw in teen and pre-teen readers to your library. That is why we are excited to be able to offer the Wizard School Workshop to libraries again in 2013. This hands-on program has drawn capacity crowds at libraries for the past 4 years. It is a totally unique program that will have your "toughest audience" participating, creating, and "LOL"-ing.
For other great tween / teen programs, be sure to check out our Building on A Dream science show. This show demonstrates the cool science behind things like electric cars, draw bridges, and even an energy bike.
Holiday parties and events at your library can be magical with one of our amazing holiday magic shows.
The Halloween Magic Show has lots of "wow-factor", with special magic tricks and funny routines that have a Halloween and Fall Harvest time touch to them. This show has been entertaining school kids for over 20 years, and there is nothing frightening or inappropriate for young viewers. This show is also perfect for "Fall time" or October festivals.
The Winter Holiday Magic Show is wintery blast of excitement that gets young readers involved in magical routines that celebrate all things fun and exciting about winter. There are even fun winter stage decorations and music to go along with the magic and comedy. More holiday shows, including a program for Cinco de Mayo and Black History Month are available on our website for school assembly programs.
Significant discounts are available to librarians who can coordinate block-booking the same program with other libraries / branches in their area. If you are flexible on dates, we may also already have some discounted dates when a performer will be in your area. We understand that budgets for youth library programs are getting tighter and tighter, and will try to work with you to get the most out of your programming budget.
Grants are often available from local organizations and businesses who want to help promote library programs. When we know that grant money is available, we always let libraries know. Furthermore, several of our performers are listed as part of the Michigan Humanities Touring Arts Program. Through this program, your library may be able to receive partial funding for the performance fee of specific Midwest Library Show entertainers. Contact our office to find out about eligible programs.
Midwest Library Shows is a small group of performers who are dedicated to providing quality entertainment for school-age and family audiences. So, what does this mean for you? Simply, when you book a program from Midwest Library Shows, you never have to worry about whether a performance is going to be successful, or if a presenter is going to show up. You have a lot of things to worry about when you plan a library event...the entertainment should not be one of them.
